Inviting It In

Yesterday, I pulled a card from one of my favorite oracle decks. It invited me into a meditation — to see and recognize my old beliefs, and to ask them: Do you serve my highest good?

In my inner journey, I reached for a chest that held these beliefs. It was covered in dust and cobwebs. OK, I thought. Makes sense.

Later, I stepped into the barn to feed the girls breakfast and felt heaviness. The air was thick and oppressive. Sure, it’s been hot and muggy here in North Carolina, but this felt like more than weather.

So, I turned the girls out and grabbed a ladder. I found myself scrubbing and de-webbing the stall fans and corners—10 feet up in the air, face and body caked with cobwebs, dust and the accumulation of life. I’ve ‘blown the fans out’ each year, trusting that they are barn safe and not a hazard. But this — this was real cleaning. Inconvenient. Awkward. Deep.

I took a break for lunch and when I stepped back into the barn, I paused. Whoa..

The air? Brighter The energy? Lighter. There was movement. Circulation. Flow. Space

That heavy, stagnate feeling? Gone.

It wasn’t just about cleaning the fans It was about what was blocking them from doing what they were made to do. What had seemed ’fine’ was being dulled by years and layers of old debris.

And then I saw the Reflection.

The barn felt different. My girls were peaceful, content in their space. The heat inside no longer felt oppressive—because now. The air could move. The space could breathe. Energy was flowing

So I asked myself: How do I feel when my old stories are seen and released?

Bright.

Expansive.

Inviting

It feels like there is Space. Space for beauty. Space for life to enter.

Like receiving a beautiful invitation in the mail. Intentional, sweet and full of promise.

When we stop just ‘blowing off’ the dust and actually reach into the corners we’ve avoided; the uncomfortable ones, the inconvenient ones. The change is subtle, and yet it’s everything.

When we clear out the old, we create space to Invite in.
