What If?

What if we Gave and Received with equal passion?

What if we wrapped the energy of our words with love,

and softened the sharp edges?

What if we gave ourselves space to discern

between our truth and others’ truth?

What if we embraced our truth,

and invited in space for others’ truth?

What if we softened,

and listened to the whispers of those who can only whisper?

What if we responded with whispers of kindness and love?

What if we heard the whispers of our herd-

the things they were afraid to say?

What if they felt safe,

and able to trust that their worries and fears would be heard?

What if we listened to our emotions-

anger, rage, and sadness-

in the privacy or our own space,

and asked them for their truths?

What if we thanked those emotions

for allowing us to feel

And for the lessons we gleaned?

What if joy returned

after we gave these emotions space to be seen?

What if we paused?

Listened?

Invited in connection and perspective?

What if, when we looked at others,

we saw the reflections of ourselves-

the shadows and the light?

What if when we we see those reflected parts,

We welcomed them and said:

‘Hello old friend, how can I support you today?’

Inviting silence.

Inviting listening.

Inviting healing.

Honoring our emotions for their truths

Honoring the unspoken needs of others

Honoring transformation-

from shadows to light
